Permitting: Other Requirements tab

The Other Requirements tab allows you to attach dependent permit records, referred to as child permits, to the current permit. Depending on your jurisdiction's configuration, one or more child permit types may be listed on this tab based on the configuration of the permit type associated with the current permit.

Selecting a child permit

A permit may already have one or more required permit types listed on the Other Requirements tab based on the permit type's configuration. You will need to select the specific permit associated with the required permit type.

  1. Click the magnifying glass icon () that corresponds with the permit type and description. *Note: By default, only permits associated with the parent permit's Primary Parcel will be shown. To see additional permits, adjust the Parcel Filter to display permits associated with Any Attached Parcel or select Any Parcel to display all permits.
  2. Select the Permit from the list.
  3. Your selection will be added to this permit application as a child permit. To open the child permit, click the information icon () next to the child permit in the list. *Note: Click the Back button at the bottom of the screen to return to the parent permit.
  4. If necessary, adjust the Requirement drop-down for the child permit.
    • Select Not Required if the child permit's status should not affect the processing of the parent permit.
    • Select Required for Issue if the child permit must be completed before the parent permit can be issued.
    • Select Required for Closure if the child permit must be completed before the parent permit can be closed.
  5. Click Save.

Adding a new child permit

You can continue to add as many child permits as needed if this permit requires additional child permits that were not populated by the permit type's configuration.

  1. Click Add.
  2. Begin typing or click the magnifying glass icon () to select either the Child Permit or the Required Type. *Note: If you select the Child Permit directly, this will automatically fill in the Required Type field.
    • If you selected the Required Type, be sure to begin typing or click the magnifying glass icon to select the appropriate Child Permit.

  4. Click Save.

Bulk create child permits

You can bulk create child permits for a permit from this tab if the permit type has been configured to allow bulk creation. The Cannot cancel if Child Permits exist and Allow Other Requirements Bulk Create boxes must be checked when configuring the permit type to allow bulk creation. *Note: You can only batch create new permits if the parent permit type has been configured to allow bulk creation and the permit type for the child permits has been added to the Other Requirements tab of the parent permit type.

  1. Click Batch Create Permits.
  2. Begin typing or click the magnifying glass icon () under Copy configuration from to select the permit type that should be applied to all child permits created.
  3. Enter a Starting Number and Ending Number for the child permits. This will determine how many child permits will be created, and their permit number sequence.
  4. If you would like to create multiple sets of child permits with different sequencing, click Add Row, and enter another Starting Number and Ending Number. Be advised, the number of permits created takes the Starting Number and Ending Number into account.
  5. Click Create Permits. This will start a job to bulk create the permits, and a notification window will display once the job is completed.

Viewing permit hierarchy

  1. Click the Permit Hierarchy link in the top right corner of the Child Permit's panel.

  3. To open an associated permit, click the Permit Number from the hierarchy list.
  4. Click the Close button in the Permit Hierarchy window to return to the original permit.
