Inspection requests

The Inspection Requests list displays all existing inspection requests that have been made from within SmartGov or through the Citizen Portal. You can view the record the inspection is associated with, view the inspection information, and create new inspection requests on this page. An inspector may save a filter on this page to quickly display all of their assigned inspections.

Viewing the inspection requests

  1. Click Common in the navigation menu, then select Inspection Requests.
  2. Locate the inspection request in the list. You can use the search filters along the top of the page to narrow down your results.
  3. To view the details of the current inspection, click the Inspection Type.
    • Fill out any necessary fields such as Inspector, Scheduled Date, and Scheduled Time Slot to schedule this inspection.
    • Click Save if any changes are made.
  4. To view the record the inspection is associated with, click the information icon (). This will direct you to the Inspections tab on the associated record where you can view any inspection configured for the record.
    • Click the Back button to return to the Inspection Request list.

Creating an inspection request

  1. Click Common in the navigation menu, then select Inspection Requests.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Use the drop-down menu to select if this request is for the Recurring Inspection Module, Permit Module, Code Enforcement Module, or Licensing Module.
  4. Begin typing or click the magnifying glass icon () to view and select the appropriate Record Number.
  5. Any inspections that have not yet been requested will be listed on the page. Click a specific inspection to view the Current Inspection window. *Note: If the Inspection list is blank, the selected record does not have inspections that need to be requested.
    1. Begin typing or click the magnifying glass icon () to view and select an Inspector. If auto assign is enabled for this inspection type, the inspector with the least amount of hours in their queue will be assigned this inspection.
    2. Fill out any fields necessary to schedule this inspection, including Scheduled Date and Scheduled Time Slot, as well as any scheduling comments.
    3. Click Save to create the inspection request. The page will refresh to display the Inspection window where you can continue to manage the inspection.
    4. Click Close at the bottom of the window to return to the inspection list for the selected record. The inspection will not display in the list once it has been scheduled.
