Editing Your Profile

Once you have an account in Asset Essentials, you can access and manage your personal information and settings under the Profile menu. This includes your default view settings, editing your name and password, and more. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk ().

My Profile

To access My Profile:

  1. Click on the user Profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.

  2. Click My Profile. This opens your profile information page.

     

 

The left panel of the My Profile page allows you to add a photo for your profile. The left panel also allows you to navigate between the General and Custom Settings options.

Add Photo

  1. To add a photo for your profile, click Add Photo on the left side of the My Profile page.

  2. Select the file from your computer.

 

General

The General settings section displays by default when you open the My Profile page. Here you can view and change some of your information.

Personal Info

  • In the Personal Info section, enter your First Name and Last Name.

  • The information in the Job title, Company, Site, and Department fields automatically populate when your account is set up in Asset Essentials. *Note: These fields cannot be edited from the My Profile page.

Contact

In the Contact section, enter your Phone #, Alt phone (alternative phone number), and Email address.

Address

In the Address section, enter your address in the Line 1, Line 2, State/Province , and Zip Code fields.

Click Save at the top-left corner of the page to update any changes made to your profile.

 

Custom Settings

Click the Custom Settings tab on the left navigation panel to open the settings page. The following settings are available:

  • Default view: Select the custom view for your My Requests page from the drop-down.

  • Password Question: Enter a security question. This is a required field that is used when retrieving your password if you forget it.

  • Password Answer: Enter the answer to your security question. The answer to your security question is required when resetting your password.

  • Language: Select the language that you want all labels to display as.

  • Time zone: Select the time zone that applies to your profile.

  • Items per page: Select the number of items you want to see per page on your My Requests page.

  • Display Date & Time: Select one of the following options from the drop-down:

    • Date only: Displays only the date on the My Requests page.

    • Standard: Displays both date and time on the My Requests page.

     

Click Save in the top-left corner of the page to update the changes made to your profile.

 

My Password

*Note: If your organization purchased Asset Essentials on July 17th, 2019 or later, you will need to refer to Resetting Your Password on the new Dude Universal Login platform.

 

Click the My Password option if you would like to change your account password.

  1. Enter your current password in the Old Password field.

  2. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields.

    • A valid password must be 6-20 characters in length and include at least one of each of the following:

      • a capital letter (A-Z)

      • a lowercase letter (a-z)

      • a number (0-9)

      • a special character (!@#$%^&*)

  3. Click Save to change your password.
