Managing community membership requests

When a visitor submits a membership request, they are able to log in to the community portal, but they are not able to enter any events until they have been approved as a member of the organization(s) they requested to be a part of. An Event Manager Administrator must handle their pending organization membership request(s) on the Organizations page to allow the visitor to begin submitting events. *Note: If you do not currently have access to this feature, please contact your Sales Representative or Client Services for more information.

 

To manage a pending organization membership request:

  1. Click on Settings from the side navigation menu.
  2. Click on the Organizations tile under Global Administration.
  3. Click on the Details button next to the request to view more information about the person who entered the request.
    1. Review the provided information, including Name, Email, Phone, when they requested to be a member, and any organizations they are already a member of.
    2. Click OK to close this window.
  4. Click Process Request next to the person you are trying to approve under Pending Organization Membership Requests.

 

 

  1. Determine whether to Approve, Deny, or Keep Pending this person for each organization they have requested to be a member of.

 

Approving a membership request

  1. Click Approve next to the Organization(s) you want this person to be a member of.
  2. Start typing the name of the organization in the drop down menu to filter the results.
  3. Select the appropriate organization name from the filtered drop down menu. *Note: In order to Approve someone for a particular organization, that organization must already exist within Event Manager. If that organization does not exist, you must add the organization before approving the membership request.
  1. Click Process once you are finished to save your changes.

 

Denying a membership request

  1. Click Deny next to the Organization(s) you do not want this person to be a member of.
  2. Type a reason for denial under Denial Message to supply a message back to the person who requested membership that informs them why their request was declined.
  3. Click Process once you are finished to save your changes.

 

Keeping a membership request pending

If you are not sure whether to approve or deny a request, you can keep pending a membership request in order to leave it in your queue of pending organization membership requests.

  • Click Process once you are finished to save your changes.
