Managing PMs
Force generating a work order
Asset Essentials allows you to force a PM schedule to generate a Work Order if needed. Force generating a Work Order does not alter the frequency of the PM schedule.
- Click on the Work Orders menu icon and select PM/PdM.
- Right-click the schedule you need to generate a work order and choose Force Work Order.
- A confirmation dialog box will appear.
- If you would like to adjust the frequency of the PM schedule after generating the work order check the box next to Adjust the normal schedule.
- Click Yes to force generate the work order.
- Click on the Work Order ID to go directly to that Work Order or Click OK to dismiss the window.
- If you checked the Adjust the normal schedule check box you will be redirected to the Schedule section of the PM after clicking OK
Batch force generating multiple work orders
- Click on the Work Orders menu icon and select PM/PdM.
- Check the boxes next to the PM Schedules you need to force generate work orders for.
- Click the More button and select Force Work Orders.
- Click Yes to force generate a work order for each of the schedules selected.
- A confirmation window will appear with a list of the work orders that generated. Click on the Work Order ID to go directly to that Work Order or click OK to dismiss the window.
Duplicating PMs
Creating a copy of one of your PMs is easy in Asset Essentials.
- Click on the Work Orders menu icon and select PM/PdM.
- Right-click on the PM that you will be duplicating and select Duplicate.
- The Add PM page will load with the majority of the information copied over from the selected PM.
- In the Tasks/Steps section, the Include Tasks box will be checked by default. If you do not want to include any tasks on the duplicated PM, uncheck the box.
- Make any necessary changes to the duplicated PM and click Save.
