Adding tags

Tags in Asset Essentials are created and associated with Assets, Sites, Locations, or Users to help filter lists and route work orders. Multiple tags can be associated with each item.

How to add a tag

  • Click on the Admin menu icon, then select Configurations.
  • In the Misc section, click on Tags.
  • Click the New button.
  • Enter a Name for the tag.
  • Select the Type.
  • If applicable, you can select a specific Color for this tag. When viewing the Tags list, the tag will display in the selected color.
  • Click Save.

 

How to apply a tag to an asset

Examples of Asset Tags may be Vehicles, Equipment, or storage locations such as "In Warehouse" or "In Field." Once tags are applied to assets, you can add the Tag column to your Summary views and filter your results by Asset Tag.

  • Click on the Assets menu icon, then select Assets.
  • Select the assets you would like to apply tags to by checking the box to the left of the asset names.
  • Click on the More button, and select Apply Tags.
  • A window will appear listing any asset tags.
  • Check the box next to the tags you would like to apply to this asset, then click Apply.

 

How to apply a tag to a site

Examples of Site Tags may be cross-departmental groups such as Public Works or Parks & Recreation. Once tags are applied to sites, you can add the Tag column to your Summary views and filter your results by Site Tag.

  • Click on the Admin menu icon, then select Sites.
  • Select the sites you would like to apply tags to by checking the box to the left of the site names.
  • Click on the More button, and select Apply Tags.
  • A window will appear listing any site tags.
  • Check the box next to the tags you would like to apply to this site, then click Apply.

 

How to apply a tag to a location

Examples of Location Tags may be Golf Courses or Community Services. Once tags are applied to locations, you can add the Tag column to your Summary views and filter your results by Location Tag.

  • Click on the Assets menu icon, then select Locations.
  • Select the locations you would like to apply tags to by checking the box to the left of the location names.
  • Click on the More button, and select Apply Tags.
  • A window will appear listing any location tags.
  • Check the box next to the tags you would like to apply to this location, then click Apply.

 

How to apply a tag to a user

Examples of User Tags may be Day Shift, Night Shift, or specific Trades. Once a group of users has been associated with a specific tag, you can route work orders by User Tags to quickly assign work orders to the group of users.

  • Click on the Admin menu icon, then select Users.
  • Select the users you would like to apply tags to by checking the box to the left of the user's names.
  • Click on the More button, and select Apply Tags.
  • A window will appear listing any user tags.
  • Check the box next to the tags you would like to apply to this user, then click Apply.
