Associating parts with assets

Associating parts to assets can help expedite the work order creation process. When creating a new work order and selecting your parts, it will allow you to filter by Asset Parts in the part chooser to narrow down the list and display only the ones associated with the selected asset. This will help you avoid having to comb through a large list of parts. There are two ways you can associate your parts with assets. You can associate them directly from the part on the parts list or you can associate them directly from the asset on the asset list. *Note: The Parts & POs feature is available to Asset Essentials clients for an additional cost. Please contact your Sales Representative or Client Services if you are interested in purchasing this feature.

How to associate parts from the part list

  1. Click on the Parts & Purchase Orders menu icon and select Parts.
  2. Right-click on the part and select Associated Assets.

 

 

  1. Click on the Select Asset gear icon ( ).
    1. Check the boxes next to the assets you would like to associate with the part.
    2. Click Select.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click OK in the confirmation window to return to the list of parts.

 

How to associate parts from the asset list

  1. Click on the Assets menu icon and select Assets.
  2. Right-click on the asset and select Show Parts List.

 

 

  1. Click on the Select Part icon ( ).
    1. Check the boxes next to the parts you would like to associate with the asset.
    2. Click Select.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click OK in the confirmation window to return to the list of parts.
